Working with a manufacturer
Samples, minimum order quantities and lead times decide whether a manufacturer fits. Pin these down before talking about price.
What to check
- Minimum order quantity and lead time
- Quality certifications relevant to your product
- Samples or a pilot run before a full order
- Payment terms and who pays for shipping and duties
Questions to ask
- Can you send samples or references from current clients?
- What happens if a batch fails inspection?
- Who owns the moulds, designs or tooling?
