Choosing a clinic or healthcare provider

Most people pick a provider by distance, then regret it when appointments are weeks out or a specialist is not on staff. A few minutes of checking first saves a wasted visit.

What to check

The practitioner is registered with the medical or health board where you live
They treat your specific condition, not just the general area
Opening hours and how quickly new patients are seen
Whether your insurance or health plan is accepted

Questions to ask

Who will I actually see, and what are their qualifications?
What does a first appointment cost if I pay myself?
How do I get results or follow-up questions answered?
