Choosing a garage, dealer or auto service
With cars, the cheapest quote and the final bill often differ. A trustworthy workshop explains the problem, quotes before working and shows you replaced parts.
What to check
- Qualified technicians and any manufacturer approvals
- A written estimate before work starts
- Warranty on both parts and labour
- Whether they use original or aftermarket parts
Questions to ask
- Will you call me before doing anything not on the quote?
- How long will the car be with you?
- Can I see the old parts you replace?
